New Business

Introduction of Officers

  • President - Dennis Bierly
  • Vice-President - Patrick Padfield
  • Secretaries - Jackie Bierly, Diane Padfield, and Priscilla Roberts
  • Treasurer - Alex Coca
  • Sergeant at Arms/Activities Director - Joe Roberts

Dennis Bierly thanked the 2009 officers for all of their great work throughout 2009.

Website Update Information

Rod and Judy Johnson of Spellman Systems LLC presented their ideas on creating a new Westside Cruisers website. They presented a preliminary version of proposed site.
  • Suggested sections: Welcome, Info, Minutes, Links, Join
  • There could be car of the month feature
  • The Events tab would include upcoming and past events
  • Each member could have their own log-in page showing My Details, My Cars, and My Classifieds
  • A forum could be added
  • Possible links to other Car Clubs
Website goal is to make it very user friendly and a great resource for our club to show potential members. Training sessions for users could be held on how to use the website and upload photos if they want. Rod and Judy will host the site and ensure search engines will be able to find us. Set-up fee would be $200. Monthly maintenance fee would be $25 per month. Pat Hinkle moved to approve the website charges and Vanessa Boerger seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Multnomah Hot Rod Council (MHRC)

The club will be looking into joining the MHRC in 2010.

Upcoming Events

  1. December 12 Cruise to Emanuel Hospital with Family Fun Rod and Customs. Update 12/12/2009: Because of possibly bad weather, our participation in this event was cancelled. Joe Roberts will deliver the presents that were to be donated to the hospital next week.
  2. December 19: Food basket delivery. Meet at the parish center that is across the street from St. Cecelia Church, 5105 SW Franklin Street, Beaverton. This is close to the Beaverton City Library. This is a very well organized event and usually takes less than one hour to deliver the boxes in the immediate area. You will receive directions on each delivery. Thanks to Karen Becker for giving us this connection again. Those that have signed up are Chris and Melissa Becker, Richard Horton, Mike and Kay Nutt, Dan and Rachel Wooten, Steve and MaryLou Hardy, Pat and Diane Padfield, and Joe and Priscilla Roberts.
  3. July 9 to 19, 2010: Route 26 Cruisers hosting Cruise Oregon. More information at http://www.cruiseoregon.com/ . Many Westside Cruisers have participated previously and are planning on attending this year. This is a wonderful way to enjoy your car, Oregon, and a great bunch of people.

Old Business

Treasurer Report: Alex Coca, treasurer, reports we have $530.15 in our bank account. Start bringing checks for club dues (would prefer no cash)

Adopt-A-Highway

The November 7th Adopt-A-Highway was a great success. Took one hour to complete and all participants had lunch at Buddie's Sports Bar (Buddie's has been a great supporter of Westside Cruisers!). The next clean-up will be scheduled in April.

Wishes on Wheels

Wishes on Wheels at Emanuel Hospital raised $110,000 for the Children's Hospital. A number of Westside Cruisers participated by showing their cars. There is a good chance they will have more space to show cars next year.

Reminders

  1. Our meetings are the first Monday of the month at 7 p.m. at The PepperMill starting in February 2010. (No meeting in January.)
  2. Bring items for the raffle - this should be a good way to make extra money for the club.
  3. Dues are $30 per family, $20 per singles, and $10 for students. Please bring a check payable to Westside Cruisers. This is the easiest way to keep track of dues and payments. Monthly payments are possible.
  4. Purchase the logo'ed items - shirts, car plaques $30, hats, or patches.
